Dr. Syama Sunkara, Managing Partner, Global Consulting Practice, TCS
Dr. Syama Sunkara is Managing Partner - India, Middle East & Africa, Global Consulting Practice at TCS. In this role, he is responsible for the consulting business of TCS in these geographies and leads a team of management consultants and solution experts who are business advisors to the top clients in their transformation journeys.
Dr. Sunkara has been instrumental in building the Industry Advisory groups for Manufacturing, Life Sciences and Travel, Transportation and Hospitality Industries at TCS. Earlier, Dr. Sunkara built the Supply Chain and RFID Practices at TCS and has been with TCS for over 14 years. His interests include Strategy & Operations, Innovation, Digital Transformation and Leadership. He brings an experience of over 28 years spanning leadership roles in Consulting, Industry and Academia. He has held leadership roles in US for 20 years and India for 8 years with global responsibilities.
Dr. Sunkara joined TCS from i2 Technologies where he advised global clients on their business and supply chain strategies. Earlier in his career he was a scientist at the STMicroelectronics Central R&D Labs and a faculty member at Texas A&M University.
In addition to his professional career, he has served as a disaster services volunteer for the Red Cross. He also serves on the boards of several charitable organizations and contributes to public policy formulation for developing nations. He has a keen interest in nation building and enabling rural India to participate in the economic opportunity.
Dr. Sunkara received his Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and his Master’s in Business Administration with Beta Gamma Sigma Honors from SMU Cox School of Business.
